The Ottawa Neighbourhood Energy Coalition project represents one of SolarPower’s most meaningful and community-driven solar panel service initiatives. Our team was brought in to design and implement a neighbourhood-wide solar panel program aimed at delivering affordable clean energy access to dozens of residential units across an Ottawa community. By pooling shared resources and deploying a unified 8MW solar panel system across the neighbourhood, we were able to significantly reduce collective electricity costs for the entire community while dramatically lowering the area’s overall carbon footprint. This community solar panel service project demonstrates that clean, affordable renewable energy is not reserved for individual homeowners alone — it is a benefit that entire communities can share, access, and enjoy together.
